How to Apply

Request for Applications will be available on the Artificial Intelligence and Technology Collaborative (AITC) site.

Priority topics

  • Real-world evaluation of AI tools for ADRD and aging care: pragmatic and randomized trials, external validation, implementation, and post-deployment monitoring (NIA Stages III to V)
  • Model development with fairness built in: risk prediction, early detection, clinical decision support, and multimodal models with subgroup performance reporting (Stages II to III)
  • AI-ready data infrastructure: harmonization, linkage, and curation of EHR, imaging, claims, sensor, and mHealth data for aging and ADRD research (Stages I to II)
  • Computational and imaging approaches to aging and neurodegeneration, including AI analysis of neuroimaging, biomarker, and multi-omic data, with a path toward clinical use
  • Methods for knowing who benefits and at what cost: heterogeneous treatment effects, economic evaluation, and continuous safety, fairness, and drift monitoring

What awardees receive

  • Consultation and design studios with our Research Innovation Core: study design, informatics, biostatistics, economic evaluation, data harmonization, and matching with clinical and methods experts
  • Independent evaluation of AI models behind the firewall on UC Health data, for reproducibility, subgroup performance, and fairness.
  • Real-world clinical settings for pragmatic trials, with template protocols, data use agreement templates, and a single IRB pathway
  • Open-source toolkits for AI evaluation, fairness, monitoring, and economic analysis
